Being a Friend of the Institute means belonging to a group of people who enhance and actively support our mission. Friends are invited to provide an external perspective on Carnegie Bosch Institute in its role in global business and society so that the Institute is better able to fulfill its mission. Typically, Friends will give advice and comment on pertinent topics that are already on the Institute’s agenda or may be potential future foci. Friends champion the interest of the Institute within their own networks.

The Friends of the Institute constitute a global network of forward thinking, globally aware and connected individuals. Friends have free access to Institute activities and publications. They may expect to receive an invitation to an annual exchange of ideas about the afore mentioned pertinent topics. This exchange may be face to face or in virtual conference. Such a conference could take place on the occasion of a Carnegie Bosch Institute forum or independently. From time to time, they may be asked to provide feedback on some aspects of Carnegie Bosch Institute’s thinking and planning.

Some constitutional thoughts: Membership in the group of Friends is by invitation for an initial term of three years from the President of the Institute. The relationship between the Friends and the Institute is framed in the spirit of friendship rather than contractual agreement..

Carnegie Bosch Institute for Applied Studies in International Management is a recognized crossroads where business people and academics as well as experts from non-profit organizations exchange views and perspectives on timely issues related to international management, business and global society. It is the place, the “Ba,” where insights, learning and experience are shared for immediate as well as higher purposes. “ ‘Ba’ is a shared space that serves as a foundation for knowledge creation. ‘Ba’ can be thought of as a shared space for emerging relationships. This space can be physical, virtual, mental or any combination of them. Ba provides a platform for advancing individual and collective knowledge.”
